London, England |
A story from London in late summer:
We spent a sunny afternoon cycling in Hyde Park. It was a mission trying to get our hands on two of these Barclay bikes together from a dock. And I’m such a shorty that I couldn’t touch the ground properly making it difficult to manoeuvre our way through London streets to the park. But once we got there it was wonderful to ride through the dappled light and afternoon breeze, and share the feeling amongst many others enjoying a day in the park. We wandered from the main avenue, then down by the serpentine, and through smaller paths into grassy fields.
We totally misinterpreted the payment scheme for the bikes however and were left with a 70 pound bill for a few hours! Seems this is a common problem. You have to dock them back every half an hour to avoid this cost, which we didn’t understand. At least we had a good time!
