I love the full moon. My mother and grandmother always say a prayer on the full moon day and prepare a simple rice pudding sweet as an offering. The full moon reminds me of both of them and the sweet flavours, making me happy at this time. We all have calendars, but the moons rhythms are always there in the sky making the months. I have been reading more about aligning with the rhythms of nature, and how this process helps to ease the effort out of life. It is interesting to think that it was natural for our ancestors to do so. To follow the patterns of the seasons, moon and stars, of sunrise and sunset, and the ebbs and flows of life that happen with it. In our modern world with lighting, and heating and supermarkets we can wake up and sleep and eat whenever and whatever we want. But for me right now it seems that a return to basics might just be the more nourishing approach.
