Brisbane Fashion Month: A Sustainable Fashion Show.
Undress Runways is on in Brisbane next weekend and I’m happy that I’ll be in town to attend. Last year I was in Sydney for the show. It was great to see the community coming together to support designers and brands, who are paving the way for a much-needed more sustainable approach to the future of the fashion industry.
Undress Runways mission is to “make sustainable fashion default, and make the public demand for a fashion industry …that values fellow human beings and our environment.” They also highlight that in addition to purchasing from sustainable brands, sustainable fashion is about consuming less, using what you have, taking care of your clothes, swapping, borrowing from friends and buying vintage.
These are 10 of my personal favourites from last year’s show. Since then Buddha Wear and The Great Beyond have become my go to brands for everyday basics. I’m looking discovering something new at this years show in Brisbane on the weekend.
